Tang Museum: Exterior and Interior

The Tang Teaching Museum is located in the middle of Skidmore College campus. Although it is near the city of Saratoga, the immediate surroundings are very beautiful, green and lush. There were a lot of landscaping and trees, looked like a park. The day I went was luckily sunny and warm, which made the outside look so much prettier. It is surrounded by other college buildings, and a sports field right across the street. The entire place looked very collegiate and important. Which was another reason I was so surprised this museum was a collection of such interesting art. I really wasn't expecting something so out there in a city that seems so traditional. The building itself has a midcentury modern design, It is white and clean looking with sharp lines. I was very fascinated with the design. and the complex design only got better inside.

The simple white exterior was brought inside, and continued with the white walls, dark concrete slab floors, and random glass walls. Because of the intricate design outside, there were a lot of different levels inside, and there was even a landing that they called "the bridge" to combine two rooms. I think the simplicity of the inside really made the art pieces pop and stand out. It was also very aesthetically and goes well with every piece in the museum. The museums itself was pretty big but there weren't too many exhibits, which was nice because it was spaced out and fun to get to the next room.
